Family of Swans, 2 Adults and 6 Chicks , Seen in Mile End Park, London
This is one more reason to visit Mile End Park in East London. In the pond in front of the Queen Mary University hosts a lovely happy family of swans, two adults and six chicks. Their large nest is in the middle of the pond. Their large nest is in the middle of the pond.
They always come near people searching for food. Do not give them bread, corn and some other seeds are better suited. The two adults can even become aggressive with people looking at them close but not bringing any food.
Why visiting Mile End Park.
Because it is the first stretch of a green path that starts near the river on the Limehouse Marina and crosses the East of London from South to North bringing you till the Hackney Marshes. You can walk for almost 10 km all in the green with only the need to cross one busy road. On the same path you can explore also the whole of Victoria Park and Stratford Park.
What is mile end park
Mile End Park is a linear park of some 32 hectares and was created on industrial land devastated by World War II bombing. Some of this land is separated by roads, railways and waterways.
The park follows the Regent's Canal from Victoria Park to Limehouse Basin, and is separated from the southern edge of Victoria Park by the Hertford Union Canal.
