Surreal in Lantau. Wah Tao Restaurant. Hong Kong. Quite good food.
This restaurant is located on the tip of Lantau Island, quite close to Tung Chung. You will eat quite good seafood here. The ancient fishermen village is next to boat piers and next to a huge public housing development, one of those places that make Tokyo look underpopulated. The place looks surreal, especially in the hours of low tide, with the sea receding from the shore. In all fish and seafood restaurant in Hong Kong everything is keot alive until just before being cooked. It just cannot be fresher than this. Nice place for eating outdoor, in the summer. In case you are a bit hungry, this place serves food in the street any time of the day and the night. It has smokey pots all over, tons of food, sauces and condiments, and you can smell it all if you walk nearby. It is good for taking photos, but the food probably needs a very, very long digestion. There are countless restaurants in Hong Kong. Only a few of them attract your eye and are worth a photo shot. This one is in Wan Chai, on Hong Kong island.
