  A note about the trend in the price of hotel nights in Bangkok, Thailand in the period 1991 - 2016 The costs in of staying one night in a decent hotel in Bangkok, does not seem to have increased at all in the past 25 years. This notes considers the cost in US$ and hotels of similar quality. An hotel accommodation is the kind of service whose price is supposed to rise faster than commodities and other material goods but this does nit seem to have happened. The 25 year time frame is long enough to even out local economic fluctuations. In the image below  you can see the bill from my last stay in Bangkok. The hotel is the Grande Centre Point Ploenchit . It is a good hotel, but by no means very luxurious. The cost of a two nights stay was 7,194 Thai Bath equal to US$ 201.56 or US$ 100.50 per night. Tao O is a small village in the southern tip of Lantau Island, Hong Kong. In the street markets here, more than in any other part of Hong Kong, you can find the strangest sea creatures and fish sold. These sun dried monk fish looked like animals from another planet. I have no idea how to use them in the kitchen!
