Surreal in Lantau. Wah Tao Restaurant. Hong Kong. Quite good food.

This restaurant is located on the tip of Lantau Island, quite close to Tung Chung. You will eat quite good seafood here.

The ancient fishermen village is next to boat piers and next to a huge public housing development, one of those places that make Tokyo look underpopulated.

The place looks surreal, especially in the hours of low tide, with the sea receding from the shore.

Here you can chose the live seafood that you will eat in your dish. In all fish and seafood restaurant in Hong Kong everything is keot alive until just before being cooked. It just cannot be fresher than this.

Nice place for eating outdoor, in the summer.

The fishermen village next to the public housing blocks.

During low tide fishing boats remain stranded on the sand. The place looks strange and a bit like out-of-this-world.

The fishermen village. It is not a favela like in South America. It is inhabited and the fishermen are not poor.

A wide-angle perspective on the rear of the restaurant.

There are free shuttle mini buses from Tung Chung station to this restaurant, but there are not easy to spot and drivers do not speak any English. A taxi trom Tung Chung costs only 20 - 25 HK$ (around 2.5 Euros).
