Thalang Road is the main street of Phuket’s Old Town. This road is full of attractions, shops, restaurants and guesthouses. Building are styled in Sino-Portuguese old fashion. Thalang is As one of the oldest streets in Phuket, and one of the busiest. On Sunday evenings it is closed to traffic and it becomes Phuket’s own Walking Street and a Street Food night market, from 4pm to 10pm. Also known as Lardyai (from the southern Thai dialect version of talaad yai, which means ‘big market’), Phuket Walking Street allows visitors to discover some typical southern Thai culinary specialities.


This weekly event is definitely family-oriented with the presence of toy stalls as well as musical performances and other entertaining acts.
