The Tea Terrace, House of Fraser, Oxford Street, London

The Tea Terrace is situated on the top floor of the busy department store House of Fraser in Oxford Street,  London.

The atmosphere in the tea room is very relaxing and really pretty with the pastel blue and pink armchairs and sofas.  It definitely manages to provide a nice and quiet getaway away from the often manic shopping street.

The tea and the cake won’t cost you an arm and a leg and you can enjoy a very pleasant teatime. The café offers more extravagant choices of tea and cake. For our visit we ordered the organic jasmine and Egyptian mint teas, and went for an orange and lavender dairy free cake which was melting in the mouth.

The Afternoon tea and the prosecco options are also available if you have the appetite for it!
The tearoom is also very family friendly. It is situated next to the children’s clothes section and the nearby toilets have the baby changing facilities.

If you wish to have your tea in the glamorous flower carriage on the Terrace you better get organised in advance. The famous carriage is available only with a prior booking.

Overall, the Tea Terrace is an excellent destination for a little relaxing break especially if you are tired from shopping or new to London. The location is very convenient and easily accessible and could be cheaper than many London hotels serving Afternoon Teas with a spacious quiet and lovely atmosphere.
