Porsche Boxster Spyder Spotted in Soho, London

The Boxster Spyder is the most extreme version of Porsche’s 981 Boxster. It is lighter by 30kg, longer by ten millimetres and lower by 11mm when compared with a Boxster GTS. The front end is more aggressive in its design and there are distinctive streamlined humps behind the rollover hoops (a tribute to the 718 Spyder of the 1960s).

The Spyder’s 3.8-litre engine is a slightly detuned version of the one found in the new Cayman GT4. Power is 45 HP up on a Boxster GTS. The steering rack is slightly quicker.

This airport is always crowded, noisy and dirty. The floors and ceilings seem to be made up of materials from the 1950s’ even though the Terminal 1 started operations in the 1990s’. Food served in the restaurant is terrible, of very expensive, or both. This is the only airport I have heard of where from time to time expensive items disappear from the checked bags of arriving passengers. On the positive side its architecture is a masterp iece of the “Postmodern” period. Its main designer was Ettore Sottsass. If you get out of the crowd, rest your eyes, and look at the lines of the building you smile at their beauty.
