Chinese Dim Sum, Wrapped Dried Fish and Chinese Sausages. Food on The Streets, Hong Kong

Dim sum baskets are a very common sight in the roads of Hong Kong. They tower on tables and tables as a promise of what good can be had inside the restaurant. Dim sum  is a style of Chinese cuisine. It is prepared as small bite-sized portions of food served in small steamer baskets or on a small plate.

Small spicy sausages hanging from the ceiling, and dried fish sold in plastic wrappings. All prices are in Hong Kong $ 1 US$ = 7,8 HK$


Dried seafood is widely used in Chinese cooking. In Hong Kong this commerce is centred around a section of Des Voeux Road West in Sheung Wan, known as Dried Seafood Street.

Up to 50 years ago the area was full of by salted fish stores. Fish were dried on rooftops and  sold on the ground floors shops.
