Bamboo scaffolding is the main method used in Hong Kong to build skyscrapers. One  300 metre tall scaffold can be put up in one day only. It uses millions of bamboo rods. Bamboo rods are much cheaper than iron rods, their use is faster and they are easier an cheaper to transport. They are not less safe that iron rods and they do much less damage if they fall.
